Therefore, after an analysis of 30 countries, Bounce, a luggage storage company, defined which are the 10 safest countries for women traveling alone in the year 2022. This interesting research is excellent for choosing destinations both for women who really want to enjoy a little alone time and for those who want to travel only with friends.

Ranking criteria

For this analysis, the following criteria were considered:

  • Percentage of violence against women;
  • Feminicide numbers;
  • Country security;
  • Percentage of women who feel safe walking the streets alone at night;
  • Domestic violence laws;
  • Attitudes towards violence against women;
  • Wage gap between men and women.

Safest countries for women to travel

After this analysis, the following countries were chosen:

  1. Ireland;
  2. Austria;
  3. Norway;
  4. Slovenia;
  5. Switzerland;
  6. Spain;
  7. Portugal;
  8. Canada;
  9. Netherlands;
  10. Poland.

The US is not on the list, as Canada took its turn, being the country with the lowest rates of domestic violence. According to research by Bounce, in Canada, about 1.9% of women report that they have experienced domestic violence during their lifetime.
