Criminals use Nubank's image to promote bank scams

Currently, virtual scams are increasingly frequent, especially when it comes to bank details and high amounts. Recently, many fintech Nubank users have experienced suspicious situations regarding their bank accounts.

Scammers impersonated the company and reported sending pix worth R$ 400,00 to those who answered a questionnaire, made available by themselves.

It is important to be aware of any suspicious action, especially when they request your personal data. In the first half of 2022, around 1.9 million were victims of a virtual scam.

Cloned WhatsApp and fake websites are some of the most common scams currently applied. Thus, it is recommended that you warn friends and family so that both do not become victims, and do not provide any personal information.

There are numerous attempts by these criminals, being able to mention also "ransomware", in which hackers invade the data system and blackmail victims with high amount of money, so that no personal information is deleted or leaked. It is worth noting that in this case, companies also experience this type of problem.

Returning to Nubank, fintech is receiving several complaints from its users, where report being scammed when completing a questionnaire, made available “by the company". In this way, scammers suck the customer's personal information, mainly about their bank account.

The message is sent through WhatsApp, advertising with the corporation's logo, in order to try to make the action more real. When accessing the link present in the message, the victims fill in the requested data and forward it to third parties in the message application itself, at the request of the form, leaving the device even more vulnerable to receive other blows.

In view of this, when accessing any link, it is essential to always be connected to the official channels of Nubank, so that you can verify the veracity of the information and not fall for any scam.

Finally, the digital bank reported that many false messages are circulating in different regions of Brazil, most of which are found on WhatsApp.
