Elections 2022: when will the second round of voting take place?

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Jair Bolsonaro (PL) will face each other in a second round of the 2022 elections so that people can decide once and for all who will be the president of Brazil. Voting will also take place on a Sunday in October. It's on the market for the 30th.

At around 21:36 yesterday, with a total of 97.51% of the ballot boxes counted, Lula had 55,166,851 (47.91%) and Bolsonaro 50,261,216 (43.65%) of the votes. The total number validated was 115,373,809 (95.59%), blank votes were around 1,929,123 (1.59%) and null votes at 3,397,990 (2.82%). Abstention reached 20.90%.

Some states like Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo will also have a second round to decide who will be the next governor. With 100% of the votes counted in Rio Grande do Sul, the dispute will be between Onyx Lorenzoni (PL – 37.50%) and Eduardo Leite (PSDB – 26.81%). In São Paulo, after all the votes are counted, the stalemate will be between Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans – 42.32%) and Fernando Haddad (PT – 35.70%).

It is worth remembering that in these states, the vote to decide their respective governors will take place on the same Sunday as the decision for the presidency.
