Consultation with the first batch of refunds for the Individual Income Tax (IRPF) in 2022 was released by the Federal Revenue and has been available since Tuesday (24). In all, 3,383,969 people will have their payment credited, but it will only be made on May 31 (the last day of the IR delivery deadline, due to the pandemic). Priorities defined by the Government
According to the Federal Government, as was done in previous years, the first batch of IR will have taxpayers with legal priority, namely (number of taxpayers on the side):
- Seniors over 80 years old (226,934);
- Those between 60 and 79 years old (2,305,412);
- Those with a physical or mental disability or serious illness (149,016);
- Those whose main source of income is teaching (702,607).
How to check if you are on the 1st batch?
So, to find out if you are entitled to the first batch, visit the Federal Revenue website or download the application on your smartphone. It is only necessary to click on “My Income Tax” and then on “Consult the Refund”.
The website has instructions and service delivery channels, allowing simple and quick or more in-depth access to your declaration (e-CAC processing generates an extract). If there is a gap in the declaration, the taxpayer can rectify the document.

The refund is sent directly to the bank account that is indicated on your statement. If this amount is not made for any reason (such as a deactivated account, for example) the funds are still available to be withdrawn at Banco do Brasil (BB) for up to one year.
In this way, citizens will be able to redeem the credit amount through the BB Portal or by calling its Relationship Center at the numbers listed on the official website. If the taxpayer does not withdraw the full amount of the refund on time, he must request payment again.
The payment batch periods
The Federal Revenue has defined that five refund batches will be released in the year, on the following dates:
- may 31st;
- June 30;
- July 29;
- August, 31;
- September 30th.

To receive the refund, starting this year, you must insert a Pix key (only the CPF type) in the declaration. Therefore, the indicated CPF must belong to the person who filed the declaration.
Also, another option is to directly describe your bank account, but the list of allowed banks is limited to institutions that are part of the federal network that collects these taxes.
