Mysterious spiral in the sky captured on video by observatory

Humans are curious animals by nature. Something that still makes us all anxious and excited is the vastness of space and universe. Since antiquity, we have studied the stars that we observe with the naked eye and our sky. With technological advances, it has become easier for us to observe the universe clearly and for longer. And by the way, an observatory in Hawaii recently captured on video a mysterious spiral streaking across the sky. What can it be?

Specialists analyze the images captured by the observatory and inform some possibilities for what could be the phenomenon that caught the attention of many.

What was captured in the video?

After analyzing the footage, experts came to the conclusion that the mysterious spiral is, in fact, the result of a launch by Elon Musk's SpaceX company. They sent a GPS-type satellite.

The company launched at the request of the US space force.

“The Subaru-Asahi Star Camera captured a mysterious flying spiral over Maunakea, Hawaii. The spiral appears to be related to the launch of a new satellite by the company SpaceX,” the observatory posted on Twitter.

What causes the spiral?

In a report made by SpaceX, explaining the event, the Falcon 9 rocket expels unused fuel during its descent to the ocean. That's why when the rocket spins down, it can sometimes cause this spiral effect, just like the one captured by the observatory.

"Similar spirals were seen after launches prior to Falcon 9," the report said.

The company led by Elon Musk has been carrying out tests and launching rockets frequently through the skies, so images like these at night are becoming more and more common. When seen with the naked eye, they can cause confusion for stargazers.

There are those who confuse the apparition with other galaxies, meteorites and even other planets.
