The Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) gained worldwide prominence, after having 26 of its courses classified as “the best in the world”. The ranking was developed by QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022.
According to the information, the performance of higher education was considered, according to the area of knowledge. Among those that obtained more prominence is the Dentistry course, simulating a range of 51-70.

But from a general angle, the university falls in the 751-800 line among the best institutions in the world.
Another highlight was the Pharmacy course, which is located in the 151-200 range, whereas college medicine is a little lower with 201-250.
However, it was not only the Rio Grande do Sul university that gained prominence, but institutions such as the Pontifical University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA), in addition to the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM).
In terms of medicine, the best scores are for PUCRS, UFPel and UFSCPA. However, for UFSM the greatest emphasis is found in Agriculture and Silviculture.
