Esporte Clube Juventude is a team from Rio Grande do Sul, particularly from the city of Caxias do Sul, formed in 1913 by thirty-five young football lovers. Therefore, they chose green and white as representative colors of the club, which remain until today. However, the team only managed its own field in 1919, which became known as “Quinta dos Pinheiros”.
Little by little, the team began to establish itself and in 1926 Juventude had already won seven municipal titles. This fact started to give even more representation to Juventude.
In 1954, the club received an invitation to join the elite series of football in Rio Grande do Sul. This was worth an investment in the renovation of its stadium, which, in honor of a former club idol, was renamed “Estádio Alfredo Jaconi”.
Its great recognition at the state level came with the conquest of second place in the Rio Grande do Sul championship, in 1965. After this event, others were also important: Brazilian champion of the B series, in 1994; vice-champion of Rio Grande do Sul in 1996; undefeated champion from Rio Grande do Sul in 1998; Brazil Cup in 1999; and dispute of the Copa Libertadores da América in 2000.
The official uniform used by the club is a vertically striped shirt in white and green and white shorts with green details. The reserve uniform consists of a horizontally striped shirt in white and green and green shorts.
Do not stop now... There's more after the advertising ;)
The organized supporters of Esporte Clube Juventude is the “Papada”. Papada got its name due to the irony of opposing fans, as saying that Juventude had a lot of “talk” and little football. Instead of irritating the fans of Juventude, the reaction was the opposite: they adopted the name as identification of the fans of Juventude.
Official Youth Anthem:
"Our souls in celebration salute
This club of real tradition
In the healthiest joy, shield yourselves
singing this song march
youth, a past of glories
your dear name has become
You are a club with many victories
That the city in pride left”
Hymn of the Papada:
"I feel it in my heart,
The victory green is pure emotion,
Juventude is a team made to love (green beats the heart),
For victories and achievements you can shout:
It's a goal! It's our Ju's goal!
It's in the chat, it's in the head and it's in the foot,
Youth will show you how it is...
It's in the chat, it's in the head and it's in the foot,
So it's a goal! It's a goal! It's our Ju's goal!”
