The improvement of the Brazil Aid is necessary
The president of Caixa Econômica Federal, Daniella Marques, announced last Tuesday that from from the second half of October, the bank intends to present rates lower than the ceiling of 3,5%. This interest was defined for payroll that will be guaranteed for the beneficiaries of the Brazil Aid. This novelty will be accompanied by an action to raise the awareness of those enrolled in the program about the risk of taking out loans.
“We are working to prioritize the payroll loan from Auxílio Brasil”, said the president of Caixa to the remember that, in many cases, this resource is used by families with the aim of “buying products for sell; to invest [in some business]; or to pay debt.
In order to reduce the interest rates of 3.5% stipulated for the loan whose installments will be extracted from the benefit, Daniella Marques states that the area of Risk and Governance “modeling is finishing”, which will make it possible for the bank to work with rates lower than those established for the ceiling.
Beneficiary awareness
“And we are going to make people aware of the need to exchange more expensive debt for a cheaper one”, adds the president, remembering that there will be a limit of BRL 160 for the specific hiring of this consigned.
She also pointed out that Caixa is preparing an “action for conscious credit”, in order not to encourage even greater debts for families. “We have to be aware that a good part of these families or people are already in debt, especially in credit card revolving, where rates are much higher.”
Daniella even updated some data related to Brazil Aid. According to her, more than 21.13 million families are part of and benefit from the program. The next installment of the aid arrives on October 11th.
