On the last day of that year, the 31st, the prize draw of the Virada Mega-Sena by Caixa Econômica Federal. This seasonal draw takes place annually on the last day of the year, however something is very different this time! The winner will take home the highest amount ever registered: R$ 500 million. Mega da Virada draws BRL 500 million

Anything goes to try to increase the chances of becoming the newest millionaire in the country overnight, literally. There are even people who use the numbers already drawn in previous editions of the contest.

After a verification, it was concluded that the number most present in the draws was 10, which appeared in four situations, followed closely by the numbers 03, 05, 20 and 36. Each has three appearances in different editions of the contest. Some have already been drawn twice:

02, 11, 17, 18, 22, 34, 35, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 51, 53, 56 and 58.

The contest in question is number 2,550 and will be held on the last day of the year, so it's possible to do your little feat until that day. The jackpot offered as a prize is non-cumulative, so if no one manages to match the six numbers in the same game, the prize is divided among those who match five. And so on.

There will be no shortage of winners, that's a fact.

It is interesting to note that, since its creation, the Mega da Virada has never had a single lucky person to take the value in its entirety. The lowest number of winners was in 2009 and 2020, as only two lucky people took the prize.

The record number of winners took place in 2018, in which 52 participants shared the prize pool of BRL 302.5 million. This yielded approximately R$5.8 million for each of the winners. Worth it!
