List of four economy cars
- Toyota Corolla Cross (Hybrid)
Although this Toyota SUV model has been the subject of controversy, it is still more economical for everyday use, according to data provided by Inmetro. In this way, the car can reach 17 km/l in the city and 13.9 km/l on the highway. With ethanol, it can reach 11.8 km/l in the city and 9.6 km/l on the highway.
- Chevrolet Onix Plus
Despite the lack of semiconductors, this compact sedan remains one of the best options on the market. The data showed that the car used ethanol at an average speed of 10.1 km/l in the urban area and 12.5 km/l on the highway. Already with gasoline, the vehicle travels 14.3 km / l in the city and 17.7 km / l on the road.

The Chevrolet Tracker is another brand that made the list. This SUV model has a 1.0 turbo flex engine that delivers a power of up to 116 horsepower. According to Inmetro, the average is 1.55 MJ/km.
Thus, using ethanol, there are 9 km/l in the city and 10.4 km/l on the highway. However, with gasoline, the values are higher, 13 km/l in the urban cycle and 14.8 km/l being used on the road.
- Hyundai HB20S
The sedan, which starts at R$81,000, is powered by an 80-horsepower 1.0-litre engine and 10.2 mkgf (kilogram-force-meter) of torque. With ethanol, 9.6 km/l in the city and 11.1 km/l on the highway.
However, using gasoline, the values are 13.7 km/l in the city and 15.7 km/l on the highway. The numbers make the average 1.46 MJ/km, guaranteeing an “A” in the category and a “B” in general in the Inmetro categories.
