Government announces economic measures

In view of this, the federal government announced this Thursday (17) an economy stimulus package that includes the release of funds from FGTS accounts, anticipation of the 13th salary of INSS retirees and pensioners, creation of a digital microcredit program and expansion of the loan margin consigned. This set of actions aims to inject approximately R$ 150 billion into the national economy, without additional expenses from the National Treasury.

According to Adolfo Sachsida, head of the Special Advisory Office for Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, there will only be an improvement in the allocation of resources, with no additions. The “government has a firm commitment to fight inflation, we would not launch measures that do not look at this [...] measures do not use a single penny of government resources, there is nothing to talk about discouraging expectations”, he said.

Measures aimed at warming up the Brazilian economy

With the release of the FGTS, around R$ 30 billion can be injected into the economy. Another provisional measure is to expand the payroll loan margin from the current 35% of the benefit amount to up to 40%. According to the government, the MP authorizes citizens who receive the BPC assistance benefit or who participate in the Auxílio Brasil program to also have access to this type of loan.

The SIM Digital program was also launched, which will be aimed at individuals and companies with annual gross income or revenue of up to R$360,000. All measures began to be announced by the government on the eve of an election year.
