With the release of "The Kissing Booth 3“, released this month on the streming, fans still wonder what would have caused the end of the relationship between Jacob and Joey in real life, who says goodbye for good in the last release of the film in the series.
Reason for separation
Since they met on the set of “A Barraca do Beijo”, released in 2018, the actors were often seen together by the paparazzi, without worrying about hiding what they felt for each other. On social media, declarations of affection were also quite common.
Rumors of a possible separation came at the end of 2018, when Joey stopped posting about Jacob on the networks, which also opted for a hiatus on the platforms. The couple, however, denied at the time that they were separating.
However, in March 2019, the series actress confirmed the end of the relationship during an interview with refinery29, even explaining how she dealt with the end of the relationship. One of the reasons for the great discussion between the couple, according to her, was the social media.
“When you're going through something and the world wants to go through it with you or get all the details about you, it's really hard. Some of these things are just for you,” declared Joey King.
Asked how engaged fans were with the couple on social media, Joey stated: "Fans fail to understand that reality can be completely different than imagined. They have a fanciful idea of other people's lives, when they don't.”
As such, the fan base may have played a role in the actors' breakup. Joey King leads to believe that the relationship shown on social networks was not as loving as fans imagined it to be.
Despite the breakup, life seems to go on for both actors. While Jacob took on a relationship with model Kaia Gerber, Joey was seen with Steven Piet, executive producer and director of the series “The Act”.
