Thesis Meaning (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Thesis is a subject, a theme, an object. It is a proposition that presents itself to be discussed and defended by someone, based on certain hypotheses or presuppositions. From the Greek “thesis” which means “proposition”.

The expression “in theory” means “in general”, “according to what is supposed”, “in principle”, “in theory”.

Doctoral thesis

Doctoral thesis is an academic work formulated in higher schools to be defended in public, for a group of doctors, as a condition for obtaining a doctorate degree.

The academic thesis is a single theme approach, the result of research in the area in which it is located, prepared following a specific methodology.

Research for the academic thesis can be theoretical, field, documentary, experimental, historical or philosophical. Must pose and solve a problem demonstrating hypotheses formulated in evidence of facts, always obeying a logical reasoning.

The doctoral thesis must present a progress for the scientific area in which it is located. “Thesis” is the publication of academic work.
