Gas Aid: payments return in August!

payments from Gas Allowance take place every two months, as the last installment was paid in June, the next round of payments will be made in August. In addition, the value of the benefit is calculated from the average value of the 13 kg gas cylinder and, therefore, the next payment will have a different value from the previous one.

How does Gas Aid work?

Auxílio Gás is a program administered by the Ministry of Citizenship, which sends resources to pay installments, which are deposited every two months, whose calendar takes into account the final number of the NIS, as well as the Aid Brazil.

The objective of this aid, as the name suggests, is to guarantee the purchase of a 13 kg kitchen gas cylinder. The program is aimed at families in situations of social vulnerability that have a Single Registry. There are some criteria for establishing priorities, for example, in the case of women victims of domestic violence.

Gas Aid Payments in August – New amount and dates

Until then, the value of the aid corresponded to half the average value of the sale of the gas cylinder, which is calculated by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). However, after the publication of an Ordinance in the Official Gazette on July 20, an increase was established.

As of August, the Gas Aid payment will correspond to the total value of the cooking gas and no longer half. Until then, the federal government has not disclosed how much it will be, but the forecast is that the benefit will be around R$ 120.00.

Calendar

As previously mentioned, the Gas Aid payment schedule obeys the order of the final NIS number, but without considering the check digit (the one that comes after the dash). For example: a card with the number 156.486.799-0, has the number 9 as the ending point and it is on it that you will base yourself to know when you will receive the payment.

Thus, those who have a card with a final number of NIS 1 will receive it on August 9th, while those who have a final number 0 will have to wait to receive it on August 22nd. Check out the full calendar:
