Understand how some foods will cease to exist in the future

The disappearance of some types of food may become a reality in the near future. For example, barley is one of many ingredients endangered by climate change. This could mean that in the not-too-distant future, we'll have to say goodbye to beer. Its global consumption is expected to drop by 16%, while beverage prices will almost certainly rise.

Therefore, some production shortage factors, both of the final product and its inputs, can help to end up with some foods and beverages. Check out some more products that are threatened below.

It is also possible that tequila prices will rise as demand for the drink increases, particularly in New York and Tokyo. While the product may not be extinct by itself, high quality tequila may be at risk as result of increased pressure on production, which prevents agave plants from reaching full maturity. With a long time to grow the plant that makes high quality tequila, how long will it take before everyone is consuming this substandard product?

Another product that can run out is hummus! The need for chickpeas is also increasing, as temperatures in countries like India (the world's biggest exporter of the grain) have risen and droughts have become more frequent. Unfortunately, the list doesn't end there. Other beloved foods, such as coffee, beans and rice, can also disappear over time.
