Spending amounts of Pix by mistake is a crime
As Pix is carried out through keys that must be filled in by account holders, it can happen to enter the wrong number. That way, the transfer goes to someone else's account, and it's often difficult to get that money back.
To avoid problems with Pix, the law is based on art. 169, when stating that the appropriation of other people's property is a crime. Thus, anyone who uses the amounts received by mistake can be sentenced to up to 1 year in prison.
What to do when receiving Pix by mistake?
If you received a Pix by mistake, rest assured that you can return this money to the owner without any problems. To return the amount, you must access the internet banking of the financial institution that you received the Pix, identify the amount and select “Return money”.
I sent a Pix by mistake, now what?
Well, you can always hope that the person you mistakenly sent the Pix to will return the money through the bank. If this does not happen, you can check the recipient's data through the transaction receipt and contact that person. This is possible if her Pix key is the user's phone number or email.
