Microsoft and MEC: learn more about this partnership
On April 13, a Technical Cooperation Agreement was signed, with the presence of President Jair Messias Bolsonaro. In this agreement, a commitment was generated between MEC and Microsoft to offer the benefit to students from federal, state, district and municipal education networks.
According to information provided by the federal government itself, the MEC intends to make the first version of the Office 365 Educacional 1 package available in early May 2022.
In addition to this partnership, the government also aims to close agreements with other companies relevant to the technology sector. As with Microsoft, the Ministry of Education is already in contact and adjusting agreements with Google, Amazon, Oracle, Adobe, among other large companies in this sector.
The impact of this measure
Through this action, around 138,000 public schools and their more than 38 million students will benefit. In addition to encouraging the recovery of learning processes, the Agreements and the actions that derived are intended to bring together the educational network – public and private – of providers of technology.
In this way, the implementation of these projects enhances the inclusion of the digital world in schools and institutions, in addition to equalizing access to digital services for education. If successful, this will be considered a very relevant advance for Brazilian schools.
