Equation answer
First, take all the equations and write them down on a paper and number them.
Equation 1: a + b = 8;
Equation 2: a + c = 13;
Equation 3: b + d = 8;
Equation 4: c – d = 6;
Now, subtract the equation 2 by 1, that is:
a + c – (a + b) = 13 – 8;
a + c – a = 5;
c – b = 5 (let's call it equation A);
Then add 3 and 4:
b + d + c -d = 8 + 6;
b + c = 14 (let's call it equation B);
Then add A and B:
c – b + b + c = 5 + 14;
2c = 19;
c=9.5;
After that, put the substitute value of c in A:
9.5 - b = 5;
b = 4.5;
Now, replace the b in 1:
a + b = 8;
a + 4.5 = 8;
a = 3.5;
