How do the steps work?
First of all, almost 3 million Brazilians found money for withdrawal in the first stage of the Central Bank's Values Receivable System. Now, in this second phase, R$ 4 billion will be released to both individuals and companies. As of May, the system will be available for queries on amounts left in banks.
For this, unlike the previous phase, it is not necessary to make an appointment, as the redemption will be available in the first consultation on the Central Bank portal. Furthermore, whoever was entitled to withdraw some amount in the first stage may also be entitled to other resources in the second.
In general, when financial institutions close due to recovery or bankruptcy, many people forget or feel that they have no right to the money they had left there. However, this is not true. Including, it is even possible to check values in brokerages.
What will be the sources of May looting?
Basically, Banco do Brasil will have seven types of sources for the next stage of withdrawals, namely:
- Prepaid/postpaid payment accounts with surplus balance;
- Fees that were improperly charged or not in accordance with the BC Terms;
- Entities that are in extrajudicial liquidation;
- Credit Guarantee Fund;
- Installments or obligations on credit operations that were improperly charged, which were also not foreseen;
- Credit Union Guarantee Fund.
In the end, there was a sum of almost R$ 250 million out of a total of R$ 4 billion foreseen for the initial stage of the system.
