For example, the need to register on a certain platform to complete a purchase was the reason why 42% of Brazilians gave up making an online purchase. In this sense, it is important to point out that these data are from the survey “What is the cost of proving that you are you”, carried out by Instituto Locomotiva. According to this survey, about 61% of people said that, due to the bureaucratic process, they ended up losing their investments.
In addition, this survey also pointed out that, even with these issues, 90% of the Brazilian population would solve everything over the internet if that were possible, and 85% reported that it is completely easier to resolve bureaucratic obstacles online. Another relevant fact is that seven out of ten Brazilians would like forms of identification to be digital, such as facial recognition. For them, this process would help facilitate access to stores or certain services.
Finally, according to Paulo Alencastro, executive VP and co-founder of Unico, the company that contracted the survey, “the adoption of digital ID in various sectors of the economy has the potential not only to make transactions safer for people and companies, but also to simplify the journey of consumption, facilitating the population's access to goods and services".
