Find the missing number on the star

The missing number on the star challenge is trending on the internet and although many people try, few can get the answer right. And then, will you join the small group of people who win this game?

Well, the challenge goes like this: You will see three yellow stars in the image below with red numbers around it and a black number in the center. However, the third star has a question mark in the middle and your mission is precisely to find out what that number is. So take a look at the picture and remember that you need to use logic to find the answer.

math puzzle

Did you find the answer? We'll put the correct number just below, but before that, in case you still haven't reached a conclusion about the number, we have some tips to help solve the mystery.

Tips for solving the challenge

To get to the missing number, you first need to understand the logic behind the numbers that are in the center of the star. So, let's go: the middle number is the result of a subtraction made after the sum of the numbers that are scattered.

If you add the bottom corner numbers to the top corner number and subtract the side corner numbers, you will get the center number. For example, in the first star we have 4+8+2 = 14, and 3+7 = 10, that is, 14-10 = 4.

In the second star we have 6+4+2 = 12 and 1+9 = 10, so the center number refers to the subtraction 12-10 = 2. Now that we understand the logic of the thing, try to find the missing number (or confirm your answer).

Well, without further ado, the missing number on the last star is 10, because we have the following calculation: 8+6+4 = 18 and 5+3 = 8, so the subtraction will be 18 – 8 = 10. Simple, isn't it?! If you got it right, congratulations! If not, don't be sad, keep doing this type of exercise to strengthen your logical thinking skills.
