Jesúpolis, a small town in Goiás, is about to enter the most famous book of records in the world, the Guinness Book.
Jesúpolis and its pamonhas
With a population of only 2,500 inhabitants, the city is preparing to produce a number impressive range of pamonhas: 20,000 units made with corn grown in the Community Farm of municipality itself. And best of all, the tasting will be free.

The city already holds this party for the 13th time and, this year, it exceeds all expectations. The City Hall is leading the residents so that, together, they can achieve the title of the biggest event of its kind in the world. Organizers are looking forward to the Guiness Book team to seal this record.
bountiful harvest
The corn harvest began on Thursday (16) and on Friday (17) the preparation of the pamonhas began. The residents will literally put their hands in the dough, peeling, grating, tying the straws, making the bundles, seasoning and cooking the famous food of Goiás cuisine.
The menu will be varied and extensive, with pamonhas à moda, with sausage, savory, sweet and others. The meal started at 7 am and lasted until late at night.
Cultural heritage
Last year, Governor Ronaldo Caiado sanctioned the law that declares the typical dish to be cultural heritage immaterial state of Goiás, making the production of pamonhas even more important for the city of Jesúpolis and the region as a whole.
The event is not only a celebration of local cuisine, but also an opportunity for the city to stand out and promote tourism in the region.
