If you are Brazilian, you are also used to extending the celebration of the Festa Junina, the popularly called Festas Julinas, a cultural linguistic expression that makes a pun associated with to this month. Despite these “out of season” celebrations being quite frequent, the month of July has many other cultural manifestations full of symbols and history about a region and the country as a whole.
Among them, the São Paulo holiday on July 9 (Saturday) stands out, which commemorates the Revolution Constitutionalist of 1932, armed movement that defended the Constitution against the authoritarianism of the government of Getulio Vargas. The historic event, which lasted three months, will complete 90 years in 2022.
Another historical holiday was celebrated on the 2nd of July, this time for the people of Bahia. The date was an important milestone for Brazilian Independence, marking the expulsion of the Portuguese in 1823.
With the Presidential Elections approaching, it is interesting to look at history and remember the achievements and events that are present in the country's culture. In this sense, a notable date in July is the 13th, which marks the 60th anniversary of the approval of the 13th Salary as a labor right for Brazilians.
