Phantom submarine found in Colombia
Adrift and with the water entering the interior of the ship, the transfer of BRL 460 million in cocaine was recorded with 2.5 meters wide and 15 meters long.
The military reported that the submarine had been in these conditions for a leak of toxic fuel gases. As a result of the leak, the two people found dead inhaled the toxic gases.
The two people found alive also inhaled the toxic gases and received medical attention as soon as they were found. After the rescue, they were transferred to the local Navy ship.
The military counted on the help of another country during the operation, but did not disclose the names of the participants.
During the discovery, Cristian Andres Guzman, captain of the Colombian Navy, says that they will use the necessary resources to combat local drug trafficking in Colombian waters.
The case gained repercussions after the announcement, causing the president of the Latin country, Gustavo Petro, to post on Twitter congratulating the arrest of the military.
