Which cars depreciated the most?
First of all, it is important to understand that KBB, a consultancy specializing in the analysis of prices for new and used vehicles, released a survey of 94 models from 19 categories. Through it, it is possible to find a list of the cars that lost most value in the market after one year of use.
For this, the company collected a series of data from transactions where former owners sold their vehicles to shopkeepers. In this case, a comparison was made between the quotes of brand new cars collected in January 2021 and the price at which they were resold in 2022.
Cars that devalued the most by category
- Medium sedan – CAOA Chery Arrizo 6 and Toyota Corolla;
- Compact sedan – Fiat Cronos, Hyundai HB20S, Caoa Chery Arrizo 5, Nissan Versa, Volkswagen Virtus, and Chevrolet Ônix Plus;
- premium sedan – Mercedes-Benz CLA, Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan, BMW 3 Series and Audi A4;
- Compact Hatch – Fiat Argo, Hyundai HB20, Volkswagen Polo, Chevrolet Onix, Peugeot 208 and Renault Stepway;
- premium hatch – BMW 1 Series, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Mini Cooper;
- Compact SUV – Chevrolet Tracker, Hyundai IX35, Suzuki Jimny Sierra, Suzuki S-Cross, Volkswagen T-Cross, Mitsubishi Outlander SP, Jeep Renegade, CAOA Chery Tiggo 5X, Nissan Kicks and JAC T50 Plus;
- Medium SUV – Hyundai Tucson, Mitsubishi Outlander, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Kia Sportage and Ford Territory;
- premium compact SUV – Audi Q3, BMW X2, Porsche Macan, Volvo XC40, BMW X1 and Mini Countryman;
- Big SUV – Toyota SW4, Mitsubishi Pajero, Chevrolet Trailblazer and Caoa Chery Tiggo 8;
- Compact Pickup – Toyota Hilux CS, Chevrolet S-10 CS and Ford Ranger CS;
- Commercial compact pickup – Fiat Strada CS, Chevrolet Montana and Volkswagen Saveiro CS;
- Medium Pickup – Toyota Hilux, Volkswagen Amarok, Nissan Frontier, Chevrolet S-10, Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi L-200;
- Medium commercial pickup truck – Toyota Hilux CS, Chevrolet S-10 CS and Ford Ranger CS.
