Many drivers have been negatively impacted by high fuel prices, and as a result, such drivers are the target audience for facilitating the purchase of gasoline. Created by Senator Jean Paul Prates, Bill 1472/21 establishes the creation of Gasoline Aid. The proposal, which was already approved in the Federal Senate last month, is still awaiting a vote in the Chamber of Deputies.

How will the Gasoline Aid work?
The Gasoline Aid will work as a “voucher” with a value of up to R$300. This benefit aims to help drivers to bear the costs of fuel in view of the high values, which have been readjusted weekly since last year.
The program should benefit self-employed drivers, such as taxi drivers and app drivers, as well as drivers of small boats.
However, it is worth remembering that, for moped and motorcycle riders, Gasoline Aid will be available in the amount of R$ 100. In addition, for any of the cases, it will be necessary to prove monthly income of up to three minimum wages.
In short, payment will be made according to the category of driver and vehicle. Check out:
- BRL 300: for taxi drivers and app drivers;
- R$ 300: for drivers of small boats (engines up to 16 hp);
- R$ 100: for drivers of motorcycles of up to 125 cc.
When will this benefit be put into practice?
With the project still in progress, there is no exact date for its release. Furthermore, as this is an election year, the electoral law prohibits the creation of new benefits or social programs, with the exception of situations of public calamity.
However, some parliamentarians are trying to circumvent such legislation so that the project is released later this year, claiming that the social program will promote greater well-being of the low-income population, providing their means of transport and, consequently, of work.
