Which method is more economical to cook: gas or electricity?
With a price variation of 32.45% for bottled gas, 35.10% for piped gas and 30.16% for electricity over 12 months, specialists in energy efficiency concluded that, in many cases, electricity is more economical than using traditional gas, whether for cooking or heating food.
Another factor that may contribute even more to this choice is related to the announced increase in the price of gas recently, which can reach levels greater than 19%, making the use of electrical devices even more advantageous.
In general, what was possible to observe after doing basic calculations is that, when it comes to baking, the electric oven is more efficient. Even though it is smaller, it generally packs more heat into less space. When we compare the fire flame to these electric cooking appliances, the difference is negligible. Electrical appliances that work with higher energy consumption spend less time heating and generate more savings.
Calculations also show that bottled gas can be much more economical than piped gas. In this way, it is worth mentioning that experts believe that the proper use of equipment and the culinary habits of a family can make the difference in the bill.
Habits for cooking with gas economically
A good habit to start practicing is to close the pans to prevent heat from escaping. Furthermore, although calculations show that cooking in an airfryer is more economical than in a gas oven, the result can be different if certain practices are followed. For example, in the case of ovens that allow the simultaneous preparation of several recipes, as well as the use of oven heat for later preparation, reducing gas consumption.
