What are paradidactic books and examples of works

Probably everyone who went through school knows the meaning of textbook. This is because it is the material that accompanies us, along with the teacher, throughout our academic life, helping with exercises and content.

However, there is another type of book that is as important as didactic ones. We are talking about paradidactic books. Although the name resembles the first one, its functions and contents differ from each other.

But to explain what the paradidatic book is about, let's first look at its predecessor. The textbook has the function of guiding the reader about something, so it teaches step by step some activity, content or action to be followed. As its name implies, it is instructive.

On the other hand, paradidactic books have a slightly deeper function. Therefore, they are the ones who propose deepening in specific subjects, raise questions and concepts that the didactic ones cannot, due to their less in-depth character.

Examples
