Headmaster of state school arrested after suspected meat theft
The director is 44 years old and has run the school for about nine years, and, in addition to meat, he also stole milk, bread, rice, pasta and several other items. The suspect was spotted due to the school's own security cameras, which recorded the principal leaving the school carrying a bag with all the products.
Moreover, this was not the subject's only action, the Civil Police reports that the crime has been taking place for about seven months. Thus, in the month of August, the principal was caught again transporting the products from the theft of school lunches, together with another man.
The police had already received an anonymous tip 4 months before, being alerted that during weekends and holidays, the principal always left the school carrying bags. Therefore, the police began an investigation and a survey of images, this time managing to capture the director in the act.
Upon arriving at the school, the police noticed that the suspect was leaving with a bag in his hands and that he had placed it in the trunk of his private car. So they followed the guy to see how far he was going.
Thus, between the school and the director's house, the suspect stopped at the supermarket to buy a liter of cachaça. According to information provided by the Police, the director was taken to the police unit, where the investigation is being conducted.
After the principal's arrest, the food was returned to the school and the chief informed that the sentence for this crime is from two to twelve years. In addition, the penalty can be more severe due to the constant frequency of the crime.
