Rare 50 cent coin that could be worth R$1,800
A 50-cent coin produced in 2012 without the zero due to a failure in the production process at the Mint had a circulation of 40 million units. However, only 40,000 entered circulation, and currently have an average value of between R$ 1,500 and R$ 1,800 among collectors.
These coins have a silver color, the figure of the Baron of Rio Branco on the obverse and the inscription 2012 on the reverse. According to the Central Bank, such coins had no circulation value at the time.
An interesting curiosity about the value of the coins is that one of the criteria that make them most valuable to collectors is the failure in the production of the specimen. Thus, this is what makes the case of the 50-cent coin minted in 2012 special, which only has the number 5 printed on it.
