Magazine Luiza (Magalu) opened registration for the 3rd Edition of Luiza Code. The qualification program offers 210 scholarships in partnership with the Gama Academy school. Vacancies are intended exclusively for women.
According to company information, two groups of 105 students will be formed. The objective of the initiative is to insert more women in the professional technology sector. Traditionally, the industry is dominated by male professionals.

Half of the vacancies available in the program are exclusively for Magalu employees and collaborators. Of the vacancies intended for the broad public, half must be occupied by black women.
In the 2nd Edition of the program, held in early 2021, 105 scholarships were offered. According to information from Magalu, the program is in line with internal policies. The company says it is concerned with training good developers and discovering new talent.
With this, Magalu shows itself to be attuned to gender equality issues. Mainly if the point of conflict is due to the labor market.
Opportunity for professional growth and hiring
In addition to studying for free, students who do not work at the company have a chance of being hired. More than 30 participants in the last edition were hired by Magalu.
In this way, Luiza Code is also an opportunity to conquer the first or even a new job.
The Magalu program offers participants two fronts of study:
- Study the Node.js language;
- Study the Google Cloud infrastructure tool.
It is not necessary to have previous training in the area or even a higher-level diploma. The selection will take place according to the program's own policies.
In all, classes will last five weeks and will take place in remote format (EAD). To participate, you must be available from Monday to Saturday, weekly. The workload extrapolates to 100 hours of content.
In the end, a challenge based on a real company case will be proposed. Scholarship holders will also have a mentoring session with Luizalabs professionals.
