The person responsible for the research was the online platform Preply, which claims to have reached a conclusion about what is the most charming accent in Brazil.

For this, they interviewed 700 Internet users between the 19th and 25th of May this year. They were people from different regions of the country, so that no one was left out and it was a fair survey.

The result you will see below!

What is the most charming accent in Brazil?

See how the rankings turned out:

  1. miner
  2. baiano
  3. Fluminense
  4. Gaucho
  5. paulista
  6. Pernambuco
  7. from Santa Catarina
  8. Ceará

The research also tried to point out which were the most striking accents. In first place, there was the Fluminense accent, with its wheezing “s”, and soon after, the Bahian one, with its calm speech and its unique slang.

But what if…

If you could change your accent? Which would you like to have?

Preply's survey also asked this and the result was, to say the least, curious. After all, it was not according to the first ranking. Check it out!

Although the Minas Gerais accent is considered the most charming, it is not the most desirable. The interviewees answered that they would like to have the Fluminense accent, if they could change it.

In second place was the miner. And, in third, the gaucho accent, which ended the ranking of the most charming in fourth place.
