Often, the worker finds himself without the possibility of carrying out his work due to some illness. In these cases, the INSS seeks to offer some options so that the citizen does not become helpless. Thus, you can apply for sickness benefit and also disability retirement, as long as there are at least 12 contributions to Social Security before requesting it. However, there are Illnesses that anticipate retirement, and even exempt the need for minimum contributions to receive benefits.

Retirement without contribution?
Specific cases are those that exempt citizens from the minimum number of contributions to obtain INSS benefits. Even so, it is necessary that it be within an “insured status”. Therefore, it is important that, at least, the person concerned has a Social Security registration number.
For this, it is not necessary for the worker to be, necessarily, in a job with a formal contract. However, anyone who works in this condition is an insured person, as well as temporary workers, domestic servants, individual taxpayers, special and optional insured persons. Therefore, as long as the worker has the proper regularization of his working life, he is an insured person. In this sense, in cases of specific illnesses, sickness or retirement benefits can be used, without the need for all 12 minimum contributions.
Diseases that do not require a minimum grace period
Every worker who loses the condition of working due to an accident, whatever it may be, does not need the minimum deficiency. Therefore, both car accidents and accidents at work manage to advance the aid. But this is not the only special condition, as the following illnesses will also accelerate disability retirement:
- Mental Alienation;
- Malignant Cancer;
- Blindness;
- Parkinson's;
- Active Tuberculosis;
- Leprosy;
- Irreversible and Disabling Paralysis;
- Severe heart disease;
- ankylosing spondyloarthritis;
- Severe nephropathy;
- Radiation contamination;
- Severe liver disease;
- Advanced Paget's disease;
- Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
