Rules released by MEC and Ministry of Citizenship
The MEC (Ministry of Education) released guidelines for tracking attendance schooling of children, adolescents and young people whose families are registered in the Auxílio Brazil.
The ordinance was launched in the Official Gazette of the Union, on June 23, together with the Ministry of Citizenship, which is responsible for Auxilio Brasil. A requirement for receiving the benefit is that students attend school as required.
How does the required school attendance work?
According to a report released by the Ministry of Education, the idea is reinforced that young people and children that make up the families registered in the Auxílio Brasil must be enrolled and attending education basic.
For beneficiary children between 4 and 5 years old, attendance must be 60%, while for those aged between 6 and 17 years old, it must be 75%. For young adults between the ages of 18 and 21 enrolled in basic education, an attendance rate of 75% is essential.
The percentage is calculated based on the expected school days for each grade or year. The result is recorded every two months in the national school attendance registration system and consulted by the management of Auxílio Brasil.
Scientific and sports benefits
Auxílio Brasil, in addition to the payment of 400 reais, also offers a series of cumulative benefits for students and professionals, aiming at intellectual and sports development. In this way, students who stand out in these areas, with the Scholar Sports Aid and the Junior Scientific Initiation Scholarship, guarantee up to 12 installments of 100 reais each.
With this, young people who stand out in academic and scientific competitions or in the Brazilian School Games are served with these benefits. Thus, it is a way of ensuring that there will be regular school attendance, while encouraging young people to pursue careers in science and athletics.
