Enem writing and its importance
First, one must be aware that there are criteria behind all essays. Thus, it is a text that needs to fulfill the 5 skills required. Their fulfillment can reach up to 200 points each. These are:
- Competence 1: Demonstrate mastery of the formal written modality of the Portuguese language;
- Competency 2: Understand the writing proposal and apply concepts from the various areas of knowledge to develop the theme, within the structural limits of an argumentative dissertation text;
- Competency 3: Select, relate, organize and interpret information, facts, opinions and arguments in defense of a point of view;

- Competency 5: Develop an Intervention Proposal for the problem addressed.
Theme of 2021: “Invisibility and civil registration: guarantee of access to citizenship in Brazil”
This is a theme that is usually worked on routinely in the classroom, linked to others such as illiteracy, people at risk, etc. In this case, it is necessary to think about the de facto invisibility, which stems from a person's lack of civil registration. Resulting in some “citizens” that do not officially “exist”.
Theme 2020: “The stigma associated with mental illness in Brazilian society”
This theme had already been previously considered for the writing of the Enem, which proposes relevant themes for society as a whole.
