the forgotten money

In early 2022, the Central Bank (BC) announced that there were more than R$ 8 billion standing still in banks in Brazil. These amounts became famous as “forgotten money” and the consultation and recovery of this money was made available by the BC. In this sense, these values are part of:

  • Money left in closed accounts;
  • Amounts that have been improperly counted;
  • Improper installments or credit operations;
  • Closed Consortium Group Resources;
  • Among others.

Amounts generate revolts in Brazilian citizens

On March 7, consultation of these forgotten values was released and this generated a lot of discontent. This occurred because many people ended up discovering that the amount they had to receive was not high, often just a few cents.

In addition, this disappointment reverberated on social networks, in which many people made fun of the situation. Unfortunately, for some, high expectations were created and when they saw the amount to be received, disappointment was inevitable.

How to query the forgotten values

The Central Bank created a system called the Receivable Values System (SVR), where you can check if you have any amount to receive, as well as how to see how to do it. The system emerged with the aim of facilitating consultation for Brazilians, given that most people do not remember or do not know that they have this amount to receive.

To consult, just go to the Central Bank website, in the “My financial life” section. Then, when accessing this sector, click on “amounts receivable”, then on “consultation of the amounts receivable report” and start the consultation with your CPF. Finally, don't be in doubt, enter the website and check your CPF, you may have forgotten money and not know it!
