Japanese company imposes time restriction and reaps benefits
Understand the main reason for the new acquisition
Correios affirms that the objective is to provide more agility and reliability to the country's postal flow. This is a result of a significant increase in order volumes, mainly driven by the growth of e-commerce. During the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, there was a 30% increase in the number of online purchases.
Should the order delivery time decrease?
The new acquisition by the state-owned company can help greatly reduce the time it takes for deliveries to be made, especially for those who live far from large centers. Through the model known as Night Postal Network (RPN), it will now be possible to dispose of a large part of cargo by air transport. Until then, only one aircraft fulfilled this role, which overloaded the transport of cargo by other means.
Soon, with the new plane, an average of 310 tons of parcels will be transported daily by air, ensuring much better quality in deliveries to citizens across the country.
What other companies invest in air transport?
First of all, it is important to know that air delivery is already adopted by thousands of companies around the world. Here in Brazil, Mercado Livre also invests heavily in cargo transport through these routes. Because of this, at the end of 2020, the company even announced its own fleet of planes
Even the American ones started to invest a lot in the modality to keep up with the growth of e-commerce. In this way, they were able to speed up the delivery of products from China.
