For those of you who love McDonald's ice cream, know that you are now buying ice cream.

Check out now the reasons for changing the menu at McDonald's:

The largest fast food chain stopped selling ice cream in its stores in Brazil. The product was replaced by a similar one and, until then, most customers did not pay attention to changing the menu.

Now McDonald's is selling what they call cold pasta. That super traditional ice cream ceased to exist in the Brazilian chain. And yes, unfortunately it is real. One of the main reasons for this change is the collection of taxes on the product.

This is because with the exchange of the product the company will pay less taxes and maintaining the same sale value to the consumer, it will consequently profit much more.

This practice of cost reduction is already quite common among large companies. Among the highest fees charged on products we can mention: ICMS, PIS and IPO. See below for a little more about each one.

ICMS

The Tax on Free Circulation of Goods (ICMS) is charged in all states and in the Federal District. The amounts charged will vary according to the rules of each state. However, it is applied to all products.

PIS

The Social Integration Program (PIS), as it is a federal tax, is charged only by private companies. The money is earmarked for labor issues.

IPI

Tax on Industrialized Products is a direct tax that is passed on to the goods. In this case, the Union is responsible for collecting the tax.
