Brazil has 7 among the 10 best universities in Latin America; see the list

The list with the best universities in Latin America for the Times Higher Education. In this case, the ranking seeks to observe which universities perform better in areas such as teaching, research, citation impact, international participation and industry revenue. In the new list, Brazil once again stands out with the highest number of universities among the best. However, USP, traditionally said to be the largest in Latin America, lost first place. Brazil has the highest number of universities in the Latin ranking

Once again, Brazil remains the leader in Latin America with the highest number of universities on the list. In all, the country has 72 universities in the ranking, which has a total of 197 institutions. Soon after comes Chile, which has 30 institutions on the list. In addition, the country has the advantage of being home to the best university in Latin America, which is the Pontifical Catholic University, which is located in Santiago.

Thus, Brazil comes next with the second best university in Latin America, which is the University of São Paulo (USP). Furthermore, within the top ten list, Brazil has seven institutions, most of which belong to the public education system. Among them, the federal and state universities stand out.

Within the top 20, Brazil has 14 universities, which represents an increase compared to last year, when there were 13 institutions among the best. In addition, there are four Brazilian federal universities and two state universities, both in São Paulo, in the top 10.
