Football earned R$ 8 billion in 2022: 5 teams took half!

According to official data, the main soccer teams in Brazil earned almost BRL 8 billion in the year 2022. Of this total, almost half was allocated to just 5 clubs, pointed out the EY consultancy, responsible for analyzing the financial condition of each of them.

Meet the billionaire teams of Brazilian football

According to the information, the clubs that shared the fortune were:

  1. Flamengo: BRL 1.177 billion;
  2. Palm trees: BRL 867 million;
  3. Corinthians: BRL 777 million;
  4. São Paulo: BRL 661 million;
  5. International: BRL 467 million.

Altogether, only these 5 clubs are responsible for 49% of the total collection among 30 teams in the entire country. At least, these were the ones analyzed by the consultancy mentioned above.

Flamengo was the team that broke the revenue record, especially due to prizes of R$ 154 million from the Copa Libertadores and Copa do Brasil. If he had sold athletes, the

profit it would be even bigger.

Incidentally, São Paulo was on the list precisely because 35% of its 2022 revenue was derived from the sale of players for international and national football.

Out of the lead, one of the teams that stood out the most in the increase in earnings last year was Fortaleza. The team received BRL 268 million in 2022, and in 2021 it was BRL 175 million.
