Geek event with tickets reaching more than R$ 5 thousand goes viral

Event geek called UCCONX had promising national and international attractions in its programming grid, such as Eleven, from Stranger Things, but ended up disappointing.

The promise was that it would be an event aimed at the geek audience that would bring together several attractions from pop culture, including games, series, films, comics and cosplays during five days in the city of São Paul. The event, which was supposed to be a big celebration, as shown by the photos that were shared on social media this Wednesday, July 27, was disappointing.

The images show many empty spaces in the Anhembi complex, without the attractions and booths promised to its public, who should spend at least R$ 125 to participate in the event. The ticket with the highest value was over R$5,000.

One of the promises of the event, and perhaps the most anticipated, was the presence of actress Millie Bobby Brown, known as Eleven from Stranger Things. In an official note that was released this Wednesday, July 27, the organization of the respective event stated that the star contracted covid-19 and would not be able to travel to Brazil.

The event ended up selling tickets mainly to be able to have a VIP meeting with the star, the famous “meet and greet”, which were not costing less than R$ 5 thousand. The organization reported that these tickets would be transferred, so that the meeting would be held at another attraction, but did not give further details about the refund.

The festival has already begun to raise suspicions even before it starts. A few days ago, reports emerged, mainly on Twitter, of people claiming to have worked in the organization of the event and did not receive their payments for the service provided, so that the whole event still needs further clarifications.
