The WhatsApp real-time location tracking function provides 3 tracking times: 15 minutes, 1 hour and 8 hours. When the established time expires, the location will be automatically interrupted by the messaging application itself.
To send real-time location on WhatsApp, follow these steps:
- Open a WhatsApp conversation with the person or group you want to share your location with in real time;
- Tap the attachment icon (the paperclip) in the lower-left corner of the screen;
- Select “Location” from the list of options;
- On the new screen that appears, select the option “Share location in real time”;
- Choose the time you want to share your real-time location by selecting one of the options provided (15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours);
- Tap “Send” to send your real-time location to the selected person or group.
The recipient of your real-time location will be able to view it on a real-time map, and it will automatically update according to the selected time.
