In addition, the preference for joining the private network is often related to the student's daily life, who usually has to reconcile the course, internship and work. Although it is heavy, this routine can offer more opportunities to the student than the regular workload of a federal university.
Late payment of installments
During the graduation process in which the student is enrolled in the program, college costs are minimal or symbolic. This is because, depending on the percentage of your financing, FIES can cover 25% to 100% of the course fee. However, those who managed to get full funding will need to pay a fixed amount of R$ 50 every 3 months until the long-awaited graduation.
Furthermore, after the grace period, which is usually one year, the graduate must start paying the financing installments. However, this has not been easy in recent years, as the job market has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, thus leaving many citizens unemployed and, consequently, without income.
However, once the financial situation is restored, there are some ways to settle FIES debts. If the delay occurs on the first copy, just update the slip and pay it within the new deadline. To do this, simply generate a duplicate of the payment slip.
However, it is worth remembering that, if the delay in payment of the financing occurs during the graduation of the student, it is necessary to be careful, as debts can have negative consequences on the conclusion of the course. On the other hand, if the delay happens after graduation, the fine can reach R$ 50 per day. With that, it's always important to check if there's any pendency.
Adjusting overdue FIES
For this, the process is fast, easy and safe. Simply access the Caixa Econômica Federal website, click on the “FIES” tab and then on “FIES Contract”. In the sequence, the option “Boleto open” will appear, where the student will be able to generate a duplicate of the boleto and make the payment.
