On TikTok, Patrick Forseth shared an intimate teaching moment with his son Lincoln. In this case, he begins the video by saying that he received an email from his nine-year-old son's teacher in which there is a report that Lincoln played a prank on one of his schoolmates. According to this teacher, the colleague in question felt very ashamed at the time.
For Forseth, this would be the right occasion to teach his son some values, so that he learns about respect and kindness. Thus, he explains that the first thing he did was have a long conversation with Lincoln, in which he explained what the consequences of bullying can be in a person's life.
In this case, Forseth comments that his interest was to make the child understand that everything he did would have consequences in real life. In this way, the father says that he did not try to shorten the conversation and that it took the necessary time for the son to really understand the issue. From then on, he could set things right.
“You need to make things right”
In the video, the father reports that he did not ask his son for anything and that he decided not to punish him for the action that took place. In fact, the only thing he asked was for Lincoln to "make things right"; that is, that he made the classmate feel good again. For this, the first step would certainly be to talk to the disrespected boy and apologize.
Thus, Lincoln told his father that, when talking to his colleague, he ended up discovering that he liked Pokémon cards. This gave Lincoln an idea, and he decided to give the other boy two of these letters as a gift. Finally, he tells how the new friend liked the gift and how good he felt about making a new friend, which gave another direction to the event.
