New minimum wage value brings changes to PIS/Pasep

Japanese company imposes time restriction and reaps benefits

The PIS/Pasep wage bonus is a benefit paid annually by the Federal Government to some low-income workers, which is equivalent to a 14th salary. The value of the allowance is up to one minimum wage and the transfer varies according to the time the worker has been active.

Now, the minimum that the worker can receive is R$ 110.

The right is reserved for formal workers, who have been working in the labor market with a formal contract for at least 30 days. It is also necessary to be enrolled in the PIS/Pasep for at least five years to be entitled to the transfer.

The effective change will be effective as of May 15, when the minimum amount of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus will be worth R$ 110, while the maximum amount will be equal to the minimum wage newly readjusted.

Despite the effective change, those who have already received the benefit according to the previous value of the minimum wage are not entitled to receive the difference. The new amount applies only to those who have not yet received the allowance. Check out the transfer calendar!
