Government pays R$50 more for THESE Bolsa Família beneficiaries

Last Tuesday (20) the Savings Bank made the payment of the June installment for Bolsa Família beneficiaries with registration number (NIS) ending in 2.

Families in this group that contain pregnant women and/or children between 7 and 18 years old were the first to receive the new additional R$50 in their bills.

In addition to these R$50, since March of this year, beneficiaries with children up to 6 years old are entitled to an additional R$150.

If the family meets both requirements, it is possible to receive up to R$ 900 monthly through the assistance benefit.

More benefit details

Currently, the minimum amount that a beneficiary of the Bolsa Familia receives is BRL 600, with an average of BRL 705.40, including the aforementioned surcharges.

This is the highest value in the history of the program, which is close to completing two decades of existence, having been created in October 2013.

According to the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, in June alone, the program will benefit 21.2 million Brazilian families, totaling R$ 14.97 billion in investments.

Previously called Renda Brasil, the program was renamed Bolsa Família with the new government taking office in January of that year.

The approval of the Transitional Constitutional Amendment guaranteed a minimum amount of R$600, allowing the release of R$70 billion in funds to cover the cost of the benefit.

New protection rule

As of June, even if the family manages to improve their income through formal work, they can remain as beneficiaries of the program, receiving 50% of the amount, for a period of up to two years.

For this, the only requirement is that the family nucleus has an average income of up to half the minimum wage per person.

Gas Allowance

Another popular assistance benefit offered by the Federal Government is the Gas Allowance, intended for families included in the CadÚnico that have at least one member receiving the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC).

Payment also started to be made on Tuesday for beneficiaries with NIS ending in 2. The program covers more than 5 million people and is expected to last until December 2026.

The benefit will continue to cover the full value of the 13 kg cylinder until the end of 2023, thanks to the approval of the Transitional Constitutional Amendment and the provisional measure of the Novo Bolsa Família.
