List of drivers with revoked licenses released by Detran
On April 20, the Federal District released a document with a list of 40 drivers who had their licenses suspended by the Department of Transit of the Federal District (Detran-DF) and who may be denied the right to drive a vehicle for a period of one or two years.
There are 37 men and three women among the 40 names included in the Federal District Detran list. In order to lodge an appeal, 30 days are counted from the date of publication of the sanction in the
Official Gazette of the Federative Republic. Drivers must present their licenses to the competent authorities within 48 hours of the court ruling.Find out more about driving license cancellation
The most common causes of loss of driving license are a pattern of serious offenses committed while the driver is permitted to drive or after license suspension. Driving without a valid licence, participating in unsafe activities and racing competitions or suffering a criminal injury, for example, can result in your license being suspended.
After two years, any driver who has lost their license must take a mandatory driving school course. Also included in the exam are psychotechnical, theoretical-technical and performance tests, as well as physical fitness tests.
Difference between license suspension and revocation
The CNH suspension procedure has applications, such as when a driver accumulates a total of 20 or more points in the license in a period of up to 12 months due to several infractions. In this case, the document is suspended for 6 to 12 months.
In the event of revocation of the CNH, the person is prohibited from driving for two years and must retake the exams to receive the driver's license (visual, psychological, theoretical and practical tests), according to the rules provided for in CTB.
