The model adopted for the Brazilian test

Between June and December of this year, companies of all sizes will be able to apply to participate in this revolutionary experiment. The model adopted will be the 100-80-100: employees will work 80% of the time, maintaining 100% productivity and receiving their salary in full.

Crucial indicators such as work stress, work-life balance, bottom line and turnover will be carefully evaluated at the end of the program.

Pioneering countries, results and inspiring examples

And Brazil is not the first to embark on this journey towards a leaner workweek. Countries like United Arab Emirates, UK, Belgium, Iceland and Sweden have already carried out similar tests with encouraging results.

In Iceland, for example, between 2015 and 2019, the largest pilot test in the world so far took place, with 2,500 participants. And a reduction of just 4 or 5 hours a week resulted in greater or equal productivity for the participating companies, leading to the negotiation of a reduced workday.

The benefits of a reduced 4-day working day

The benefits are clear: during testing, most companies decided to keep the reduced workload, experiencing an average increase of 35% in revenue compared to the period previous.

Surprisingly, 90% of employees expressed a desire to continue working just four days, with 15% saying that no amount of money would be enough to accept the return to the week of five days.

In addition, there was a significant reduction in stress (39%), symptoms of burnout (71%) and greater ease in reconciling personal and professional life (54%).

Join the work revolution: learn how to apply and prepare your company

If you're eager to be a part of this workplace transformation, keep an eye out: join June and July, Reconnect will be offering information and guidance to companies interested in to participate.

No restrictions on the number of employees, just fill out a form on the website to access mentoring. There will be a cost to participate in the study, which has not yet been defined. The change begins to take place in August, with companies preparing to adopt the new work model in September.

It's time to rethink the way we work, valuing the well-being of employees and the efficiency of companies. The reduced work week is becoming a global reality, and Brazil is ready to embrace this change in search of a better quality of life and happiness in the corporate environment.
