Tesla shows evolution of humanoids
The Tesla Bot, conceived as a humanoid robot, was initially unveiled at Tesla's AI Day event last year. At that time, the company was only able to present a disassembled version of the robot, which had difficulty walking forward, much less performing manual movements on stage.
Tesla introduced a version of the Tesla Bot that more closely resembled a production model, being supported by a stand and performing a wave to the audience. However, at this week's event, the robots showed more independent movement, albeit still at a somewhat slower speed.
This demonstration highlights the progress made by Tesla in the evolution of the Tesla Bot, getting closer and closer to a functional and autonomous robot. After seven months, Tesla's bot is well on its way to becoming some kind of product, far beyond its initial form as just a "guy in a suit".
Tesla is likely to start production of the Tesla Bot after delivering the long-awaited Cybertrucks. This progression indicates Tesla's commitment to advancing the development of humanoid robots and expanding its product portfolio beyond electric vehicles.
