Climate change intensifies the appearance of rainbows

According to a study published in the journal Global Environmental Change, the next 80 years will be marked by a greater incidence of rainbows, however not we can celebrate this news, since this increase is just a consequence of dangerous warming, due to the excess of carbon dioxide, experienced by the planet.

We must remember that the phenomenon only happens when sunlight is passed through by raindrops, which forms the colored arc in the sky. Global warming increases this incidence, since among its main consequences is the intensification of heat, as well as rainfall across the Earth.

He was even responsible for increasing the appearance of rainbows in the last ten years. Thus, scientists believe that this increase in sightings will continue, since each year the planet is warmer. In other words, the overheating trend is real.

5% increase in rainbows by 2100

The research also showed that the largest apparition will not happen uniformly. On the contrary! They will be most visible in areas susceptible to the global effect. In this way, an appearance reduction of 21% to 34% is expected worldwide. In the other areas, between 66% and 71% of the areas will have a higher incidence.

For example: rainbows are expected to become more frequent in the Arctic as a clear demonstration of global warming. That's because, the waters in this region they usually precipitate in the form of snow. With the phenomenon, the rain becomes more frequent. Altogether, a 5% increase in sightings is expected by 2100.
